The Scottish Performance Horse Clinic (SPHC) is the only one of its kind in the UK offering a unique service backed by a team of European specialists.
The clinic is the only dedicated performance clinic in Scotland, and is equipped with the most up to date diagnostic equipment in the world.
It was set up in September 2008 to improve the health and welfare of horses with performance problems.
Based at the state of the art Weipers Centre Equine Hospital, University of Glasgow, the clinic is run by clinical specialists in equine medicine and surgery with extensive experience of diagnosing and treating performance disease.
About the Optomed Dynamic Respiratory Scope:
Broadly the dynamic respiratory scope replaces treadmill endoscopy as the gold standard for the investigation of diseases affecting the equine respiratory tract.
The system allows veterinarians to see directly inside the upper airway of a horse while it is working under normal exercise conditions.
In addition to investigation of the respiratory system, the clinic offers performance testing, diagnosis and treatment of all of the causes of poor performance including cardiac, musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal.
